2024-25 Commander Jim Fultz
TO: All Department of Georgia Legionnaires
July 1, 2024
I would first like to take a moment to thank each of “you” for allowing me to be your Department Commander for the 2024-2025 legion year.
I do not take this position lightly and I pledge to you that I will work hard and diligently to improve on the good things that have been started by my predecessor, Past Commander Melvin Weaver. I will also work doubly hard to improve on these things and the overall operation of the Department of Georgia. This is your Department, and I am just a servant leader who will do everything in my power to serve you and all veterans.
This year, I ask each of you to make a conscientious effort to grow our organization. Reach out to those veterans who are not a member of our great organization. Explain to them our purpose and what we do. If for some reason, you do not know how to explain the (4) four pillars of The American legion, learn it by asking questions, going to training, and visiting mylegion.org for all types of information pertaining to the American Legion. In addition to growing our organization, we need to make sure that the members we already have renew their membership. Membership is the responsibility of ALL.
My motto this year comes from my last name, FULTZ – (Foresight, Understanding, Learning, Training, Zeal). If we all strive to do the 1st (4) four things then lastly do them with ZEAL, we will be successful. To be a servant leader must come from your heart and because you really want to help and serve our veterans, you will automatically succeed.
We should all work as a team to do wonderful things this year and make the Department one that we all can be proud of for years to come.
If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, do not hesitate to contact me. I will always be available for you and will respond to you as quickly as possible.
Again, “Thank You” for allowing me to be your Commander.
Jim Fultz, Commander
The American Legion
